Southern Hospitality is the norm for me, that is why I provide door-to-door service for my Bonaventure Cemetery Walking Tour, as well as complimentary bottled water, bug spray when needed, and umbrellas if it happens to rain. I can also provide recommendations for the best restaurants in the area and other places of interest. My climate-controlled van is pet-friendly, comfortable and clean, and my tour is the most convenient way to see Bonaventure Cemetery. The gates of Bonaventure are 15 minutes to the east of town, but that is just the entrance to 103 acres of cemetery, most of which is very active and relatively modern. We will cruise past the large, herd-style tours gathering there at the gates for their long walk through a very small sliver of Bonaventure, and enjoy the entire cemetery. We’ll drive through the less historic sections of Bonaventure on the way in and on the way out, hitting the points of interest and respectfully experiencing these more active areas (funerals in progress) from the comfort of the van, while spending the majority of our time on a walking tour of the historic Victorian section of Bonaventure. This historic, less active area is where Bonaventure’s grandest monuments stand and where Savannah’s greatest stories lie buried beneath a canopy of live oak, dripping with Spanish moss.

Expect that I will call or text you about 45 minutes before the tour begins to coordinate your pick up. I will then tell you what time you will be picked up. This is why I ask for your phone number when you book the tour. I do this so you will not have to wait on me, I would much rather wait on you. I try to be as convenient as possible! You will be transported to Bonaventure in my climate-controlled van for your guided walking tour of the cemetery.
Expect to be on your feet for about two hours, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. We will stroll the oldest sections of Bonaventure, enjoying it’s history and beauty, while learning about the notable people who are interred on the grounds. After the tour, I can drop you off where I picked you up or anywhere else downtown that you’d like to go. Maybe a restaurant, tavern, a museum, or one of the many beautiful squares. Wherever you want. However, I am required by the City of Savannah to use approved shuttle stops, loading zones, or private property when picking up or dropping off guests, but they are located all over the downtown area and one is sure to be very close to where you’d like to go.
Tours daily at 10:00am and 2:00pm (Times vary by season and demand). The pick-ups usually begin about 20 minutes before the hour and tours last about three hours door to door. Call me, tell us where you are, and I’ll come get you!
