A: No, this is a guided walking tour. We use the shuttle only to get you to and from the cemetery. Once there you should expect to be on your feet for about two hours. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. A special driving tour is sometimes offered in the afternoons during the Summer.
-
A: From Spring through Fall, tours are at 10am and 2pm, seven days a week. In the Winter, I only offer the 2pm tour. When you reserve your seat I’ll ask you for your cell phone number. This is so I can call you shortly before the tour to coordinate your pickup. I don’t want you waiting on me, I’d much rather wait on you. But, generally speaking, pickup times will be between 10 and 20 minutes before the scheduled tour.
-
A: In most cases, I can pick you up at or near your hotel or inn. I also pick up at the many trolley stops in the downtown area, designated by a blue bus on a white sign that says “Local Tour Buses Only”. Tell me where you are and I will direct you to the nearest pickup point with a scheduled pick up time. They are usually just a block or two away from any downtown location. Upon returning to downtown, I can drop you off close to wherever you’d like to go.

A: Southern Hospitality isn’t a catch phrase with me, it’s how I was raised. So I offer my guests cold bottled water, bug spray when needed, an umbrella if it looks like rain, and recommendations on lunch, dinner, other tours and activities, etc. I want you to have the best experience possible while you are in my hometown.
-
A: I have a 14 passenger van, but I only book 12 seats per tour to keep it more comfortable (only 8 until Covid ends). In special circumstances like large groups, families with small children, or private tours, I will use all the seats. Even with all the seats filled, it is a very comfortable ride and it only takes about 15 minutes to get out to Bonaventure.
-
A: Of course. Call to schedule and we I set it up for you.
-
A: Absolutely not. This is a history and sight seeing tour. City policy does not allow ghost stories in our cemeteries because it is considered disrespectful to plot owners and I agree. That being said, I am here to tell you it is real. I will tell you about some of my experiences from the downtown area and shoot you straight on what stories are legit and what stories are flat out made up by certain tour companies to rake in the cash.
-
A: From pick up to drop off, the excursion is usually between 2.5 and 3 hrs. The tour of the cemetery itself is about 2 hours, give or take a bit. It all depends on traffic, travel time, size of the group, etc. I don’t like to rush and I want to make sure that everyone gets time to take pictures and linger when something catches their attention. Believe me, it goes by fast and is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon.
-
A: Yes, but they few and far between. There are facilities at the entrance and porta potties in the middle of the cemetery. I stop at the ones at the entrance on the way in and out, upon request. Please use common sense when planning your excursion. Don’t drink a bunch of beer and then go off on a walking tour in a 103 acre cemetery.
-
A: I generally go out rain or shine and provide umbrellas. The cemetery is beautiful in the rain and is quite an experience, but if it’s really coming down or lightening, I cancel the tour and issue refunds.
-
A: Sort of. I have a folding wheelchair I can bring if requested at booking time and I’ll push you through if I have to, I’ve done it many times, but I don’t have an ADA lift on my current vehicle. Guests have to be mobile enough to climb in and out of the van or meet the tour in the cemetery with their own ADA transportation if completely wheelchair bound. Keep in mind, there are no paved paths where we conduct the tour. It is grass or dirt paths with large roots in many places. It is do-able, but a bit of a work out. Like I said, I’ve pushed quite a few people through over the years.
-
A: The fee is $30 plus tax for adults with discounts for military and children. That’s exactly (if not less than) what the other Bonaventure walking tours charge to “meet you out there” not counting the car fare. You can reserve seats now on my Tickets Page and pay immediately with your credit card for a small service fee or you can call me direct to book and pay at the end of the tour with cash or credit card, whatever works best for you.
-
A: Not regularly. I can do private tours if booked in advance, if the price is right , and if I’m available. That’s a lot of ifs, but we can go wherever you want with a walking or driving tour. The van holds up to 14 guests and walking tours can be as large as 30 guests. Call me and we can work something out. I am also available for private transportation for up to 14 people.
